Injury woes continued...

So I went to see a doctor about my weird toe pain. He said it's probably metatarsalgia, capsulitis, or Morton's Neuroma. Basically, what I had deduced using WebMD. He recommended getting corticosteroid injections in the metatarsal joint and the nerve to reduce inflammation and pain or to try metatarsal pads and see what happens. To my surprise he did not advise me to not hike, but if the pain increases that I should seek further treatment to avoid further damage.
